I brew my own and have a keg-r-ator in the living room,
i have one keg of Gunn Runner Ale, its about 7%, its a red/brown American Ale that if you try to compare it to anything else its similar in taste to newcastle except a bit hoppier with a much smoother finish.

Also have two kegs conditioning right now of another brew i do called AntiMatter Ale, its got hints of coffee and chocolate that is a dark porter almost a stout that is probably closer to 8%

Both are incredibly smooth tasting, easy drinking but with serious octane
    :-).

I have the remnants of a week old growler of Flat Branch ESB and a half a bottle of Patron. Need to buy beer.

Planning on grabbing some Bell's Two Hearted Ale (a wicked IPA) and hopefully the local store has fulfilled their promise of getting a selection of 22oz bottles from Avery (I'm dying for some Hog Heaven).

I recently moved to Mid Missouri and I miss all my old favorites like Stone, Avery, Deschutes, Midnight Sun, etc. If it weren't for the availability of beer from Bell's and Goose Island I don't know what I'd do.

Note to self: need to start a new batch of homebrew.

I dont keep much beer on hand but i'd love to keep a lot of Belgian stuff around, like in kegs, right off the boat from Brussels ...

Some Pink Killer, some Scotch de Silly, some Gulden Draak .... etc etc etc ...

Avery Out of Bounds Stout (maybe Porter & IPA, too? -- I forget)
    Lost Coast Eight Ball Stout
North Coast Old No. 38 Stout
    Sierra Nevada Bigfoot

I seem to be kinda partial to N. Cali, huh?

I homebrew also and right now have a Baltic porter, a robust porter, a braggot and a metheglin in carboys. In the fridge, I have Victory's Old Horizontal, Avery's Hog Heaven and my own Mexican stout (chocolate, cinnamon, serrano peppers). Time to lighten up a bit for the summer, so I'm thinking something Belgian or maybe a kolsch. I need a good IPA. Hey, Jeff, sounds like we should get an exchange program going - I live in Colorado and cannot get Goose Island. Slainte!

"Salem, Oregon. I can just imagine all the New Englanders being very disappointed."

Ahh, yer coasts be damned! Salem, Mass vs Salem Or means nothing.

East and West US have both got some damned fine breweries.... Here in the West, we've got Pyramid, Deschutes, Rogue, Cascade Lakes. Red Hook, Weinhards, Stone, and far too many others to name. Personally, I love Boundary Bay, Elliott Bay, Elysian, and Mac & Jacks -and I'm a regular keg buyer of all of 'em to prove it.

I imagine that the East US has some equally impressive names - I'm not knocking it, I'm saying you need to share the goods with the rest of us so we can all enjoy it.

Knocking it for being "West, not East" is crap - politics has no place in determining good beer. I say, drink good beer regardless of where it comes from. N. Am, S. Am, Euro, Asia, etc... good beer is just good beer, and who cares where it's from.

            >Knocking it for being "West, not East" is crap

The people who go to specific places to have good beer care where those places are. As for the East vs West thing there are more than two Salems in the United States...let alone the rest of the world. And my guess that more than one Salem has an actual brewery in town or nearby...

The East and Central and South of the US are producing wonderful beers--rather than imagining them, you should check them out. As for where it comes from, it's more along the lines of where a true beer snob would go to taste beers, right?

I still have 6 22oz bombers of my super IPA. I also have a buttload of this Belgian Honey Wheat that is just about to reach the age of majority.

We have some ginger beer (made with dark brown sugar, honey, ginger, and lemons) that is turning out pretty good. The only thing I would do different next time is to use either a champagne yeast or an american ale yeast instead of a belgian abbey yeast.

There's a triple espresso imperial stout that I'll rack to the secondary tomorrow but it won't be ready for quite some time.

Oh, and I have some Bell's Third Coast Old Ale (amazing), Flying Dog Double Dog (totally worth the price of admission), Great Divide Old Ruffian Barley Wine (can't wait to try it), and New Belgium Trippel (kind of do not want. Does New Belgium make anything worth drinking?)

I am in upstate New York.

I just picked up four bottles -- drank one -- of Southern Tier Pumking Pumpkin Stout. It's the best pumpkin I have had.

I have a bottle of their Creme Brulee (vanilla) Stout as well. We are going to try to cellar those. We'll see.

Had the Pennichuck (N.H.) Brewery Pompier barleywine recently. Good stuff.

There's one bottle of the Weyebacher (Pa.) Imperial Pumpkin left.

Elysian from Seattle just started diustributing up here (I think), and I have their IPA and their Stout.

Just had a touch of the 08 Epic myself. Very, very good. Even folks who aren't all that hot on beer like it. Definitely a keeper. If I were collecting beers this one would rate 12 bottles/vintage...open one bottle every year at a special tasting with friends where we did a vertical tasting of each of the past 10 years or so. Definitely a great beer.

I've had both the Pumking and the Creme Brulee Imperial Milk Stout recently. The former was good, a little more delicate on the pumpkin flavor than what I'm used to, but perhaps more true to the beer, (I personally heart StoneCat's Pumpkin Porter the best...) but the Creme Brulee Imperial was incredible. You could smell that from 6 feet away... Definitely one to drink slowly and savor.

After a summer of hosting parties and taking a flurry of financial body shots, my beer reserves have been emptied. Never thought it would happen, but it did.

Being broke, I've been searching out economical yet tasty brews.

Right now, I'm stocked up with Wolaver's Organic Sampler (Pale, Brown & IPA). Only 28$ w/tax here, and I'm quite impressed with the quality at that price.

I did go out and splurge recently and bought some Weyerbacher's Blasphemy. This is their Quad Belgian Abbey aged in an oak whiskey cask..... it is f*ing orgasmic :)
