Thanks to all for making this an active and interesting group in my absence. I hope my absenteeism did not cause too much difficulty.
I did have two messages about some guy posting something and being attacked by someone with a vendetta about their opinion or whatever. Fortunately, it was months or years ago so the annoyance and drama is long gone!
Let me know how I might be of service, assuming there's no system in place for the individuals here to serve themselves.
The main thing that interests me in any management (if any) is to remove totally off-topic posts if the group isn't interested in them.
Example: a post about knitting with no relationship to beer, I'd be interested in removing (and first notifying the originator of the post what I'm doing and why so they have a chance to save their text).
Example 2: If someone posted about cigars, I'd be more likely to keep it as cigars have a known and popular association with beer (at San Francisco Brewing Co. is a perfect example of this relationship).

Wed, January 2, 2008 - 11:08 PMNaw, man! Just cut off the tube part of a sock and use that--that's what my pop's did with his Coors Light...let's just say that he's not all that snobby about beer...um, except Coors Light... -

Re: Your fearless leader has returned to tribe!
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 11:17 PMthe tube sock... a classic.
One trick I learned from my folks when i was a kid was to peel the lable off of a 2 litre coke bottle and wrap it around a beer can, held in place with a rubber band, for places where beer is not allowed. Up close you can see it's not real, but from a short distance or further, it look like you are drinking a coke . . . -

Re: Your fearless leader has returned to tribe!
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 11:26 PMThat sounds a lot better than drinking a men's crew sock...although I am reminding of the time I was hazed by the hashers...and went ahead and drank beer out of my own running shoe. Now is that character building or what? I mean, they wouldn't suspect it was in a running shoe...okay, maybe they'd think something was amiss.

Fri, February 8, 2008 - 12:09 AMI try not to be too much of a beer snob, but Coors Light is no good. I'm afraid as a second generation Coors Light drinker, I'm going to have to kick you out of the tribe. Or banish you I guess would be the appropriate metaphor.
Ok, j/k.
I never drank bad beer slowly enough to need any insulation.
